We continue our look at each book release with book two, Desperate Measures.

By now in the series the beginning stages of the journey has been set.  The store that started the madness is long in their pasts.  And, shocking moments that turned lives upside down (but propelled a story) have commenced.  Where Will the circle be broken? was the series foundation, setting the stage,  Desperate Measures builds upon that footprint, adding to its structure.  All the while setting the stage for what would come next, a book that would ultimately change everything.

Desperate Measures, as a title, really correlates to the two main stories of the book.  One revolving around Lori and her obsession to have wealth, and the other being Dan and his desperation to do whatever it takes to get home.  There’s so much more here too as a book.  Prosperity for some, dealing with loss for others, and the introduction of what many have stated is the series’ first true super couple.

“Where Will the circle be broken? was the series foundation, setting the stage,  Desperate Measures builds upon that footprint, adding to it structure.

This book picks up right where the first book, Will the Circle be Broken? leaves off, but moves at a swift pace resolving storylines and introducing new characters.  The individuals you have now started to love, or hate, begin down a path where they truly are finding themselves and wondering what is out there ahead of them.  But, it’s the new characters in the book that will set the stage for the things still to come.  As you delve deeper into their world it will become clear there is an undertone of something which could be darker.  The secrets of a family will begin to come to light.  Secrets which have remained buried for a reason for many years.  The stage of the future will be set in the final episodes of the book.   With the foundation now laid and the framework complete, was this newly built house about to come crumbling down?  Something darker was evident as Desperate Measures came to a close, but even back in the day as I wrote I knew the third book would change everything.  Their darkest hour was ahead.
